The local-historical centre is located in the old municipal building at Aurlandsvangen. The centre offers a series of exhibits and services for the general public. Two such services are genealogical research and search in the photo archive. The centre was opened in 1994.
Sunnfjord Museum is located at Movika, east of the centre of Førde. The buildings in the open air museum show periods in building style back to the 16th century. In the main building there are permanent and alternating exhibitions.
De Heibergske Samlinger - Sogn Folkemuseum is the cultural-historical museum for the people of Sogn. It is located at Kaupanger, comprising a large open-air museum, a large exhibition building with permanent and temporary displays, and a separate section, Sogn Fjordmuseum, with boats and other objects related to our local fjord culture.
When the village school was closed down, the old school building at Sandvikneset was turned into a school museum for Selje. The house is located about 20 kilometres south of the centre of Selje on the road to Måløy.
