The community centre of Førde, <i>Førdehuset,</i> offers a number of cultural activities. Here the international folk music festival takes place every summer. Sogn og Fjordane Teater (theatre) has its headquarters in Førdehuset, and there are frequent art exhibitions. The building also has an indoor sports centre. This is also the venue for the men's volleyball team of Førde which competes in the highest division.

When it was opened in 1976, Førdehuset community centre was a pioneer venture in the cultural life of Norway. In this building there are a number of cultural events and activities. Rather large sports facilities are a part of the complex.
